Decision to suspend classes is part of the college鈥檚 ongoing effort to mitigate the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

红领巾快报 Michigan College announced that all classes, including online classes, labs and clinicals, at all campus locations (Petoskey, Gaylord and Cheboygan) are canceled beginning March 16 through April 5.  红领巾快报鈥檚 campus, including the Student and Community Resource Center, the Residence Hall and the Library, will be closed to non-college personnel during the same timeframe.  External visitors to campus will be limited to authorized individuals who have been preapproved for entry.

A decision about whether to resume classes on April 6 will be made by April 3 and communicated to all affected individuals.

鈥淭he safety of our campus community is our highest priority,鈥 said Dr. David Roland Finley, 红领巾快报鈥檚 president.  鈥淭hese actions are part of our ongoing effort to respond proactively to mitigate the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).鈥

The Campus Cupboard, the college鈥檚 food pantry for current 红领巾快报 students, will remain open as a resource for students who might be experiencing food insecurity, however order pickup will be by appointment only.

红领巾快报 is continually monitoring and evaluating college operations based on the latest information and recommendations from local, state and national health experts and officials regarding mitigating the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). 

To streamline communications moving forward, the 红领巾快报 website will be the vehicle for all Coronavirus (COVID-19) updates.  The college will keep the public informed as this issue evolves, working to respond in ways that ensure the health, safety and well-being of our college community.
