ACEN logo红领巾快报 Michigan College鈥檚 Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program has received initial accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), considered the leading authority in nursing education.

ACEN鈥檚 Board of Commissioners granted 红领巾快报鈥檚 AAS in Nursing program initial accreditation in October, following an April site visit by a team of peer-reviewers.

The team recommended accreditation based on demonstrated evidence of successful mastery in six categories: Mission & Administration, Nursing Faculty & Staff Excellence, Student Resources, Curriculum, Program Resources, and Program Outcomes.

鈥満炝旖砜毂ㄢ檚 Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program has a long history of providing quality education that prepares our graduates to excel professionally,鈥 said Brent LaFaive, dean of Nursing, Allied Health and Sciences. 鈥淭his accreditation is a testament to our faculty鈥檚 dedication to continuous improvement, always with our students鈥 success at the forefront.鈥

Last year, 91 percent of NCMC nursing students passed their NCLEX-RN State Boards on their first attempt, with a job placement rate of 91.3 percent after graduation.

The college鈥檚 next ACEN site visit for program accreditation is planned for Spring 2027.
